Strathclyde's David Gani is new ScotChem chair

PROFESSOR David Gani, deputy principal at Strathclyde University, has been elected executive chairman of ScotChem, the organisation that brings together universities, the Scottish Funding Council and industry body Chemical Sciences Scotland to pool expertise and resources.

Caroline Strain, head of chemical sciences at Scottish Enterprise, said: "ScotChem is an important part of the future of the chemical sciences sector.

"The country has a thriving chemical research and university sector and ScotChem continues to foster collaboration between business and academia."
