Staycations are a £33m family treat

THe families behind the Butlins and Haven holiday parks have enjoyed a £33 million dividend payment as they reaped the benefit of Britain’s “staycation” trend.

Bourne Leisure, which is majority-owned by the Cook, Harris and Allen families, saw a 6 per cent rise in pre-tax profits to £93.4m in the year to December 2010, according to accounts filed at Companies House.
