Standard Life unveils management changes

Insurance and pensions giant Standard Life has unveiled a raft of management changes that include the departure of UK marketing director Bruce Kelsall.

The restructuring of the group’s management team comes just months after a reshuffle that included Sandy Begbie being named as group operations officer, Paul Matthews taking over as chief executive for the UK and Europe and Nathan Parnaby becoming chief executive for Asia and emerging markets

Following a review carried out by Begbie, Matthews and Parnaby, a series of operational changes have been introduced, including the splitting of the international and domestic businesses in Ireland.

At a group level, Mark Dixon will add the title of chief technology officer to his role as chief information officer, while David Scott becomes director of group platform and customer data strategy.

Other changes include Ian Miller becoming head of group talent and organisational development and Graeme Mcewan adding responsibility for the group’s brand to his existing oversight of communications.

A Standard Life spokesman said: “Today’s changes allow us to take further advantage of the significant progress we’ve made transforming the operational and financial performance of Standard Life.”
