Sportingbet in twin Danish acquisitions

Sportingbet is to buy two Danish online betting firms just days after breaking off takeover talks with Ladbrokes.

The firm will pay a maximum of £8.5 million for Danbook and Scandic, which offer fixed odds sports betting, casino, poker and games. Chief executive Andrew McIver said: “We have demonstrated our ability to deliver strong growth in licensed territories such as Australia and we are excited by the opportunity that Denmark represents.”
