The firm said the move will help manage its commercial and residential developments in the capital as well as Ayrshire, Glasgow and Lanarkshire.

The 180-year-old group, which will be based in Q Court in the Davidson’s Mains area, has developments in the city including Tanalach. Five new staff will be based in the new office.

Lorraine MacDonald, a senior partner at the firm, said she and her colleagues were “really excited about the potential for all our services in the capital”.

She added: “We already have 1,400 properties on our books across the capital, and we expect this to grow to 2,000 within a year. Having a physical presence in Edinburgh will allow us to build significantly on our offering in the east.”
