South Lanarkshire Council awards IT deal to Bull

French computer company Bull has won a multi-million pound deal to manage South Lanarkshire Council’s IT infrastructure.

The five-year contract, with the option for a two-year extension, will see Bull work with the local authority to help improve the services it offers to more than 311,000 people in the region.

Martin Low, acting head of IT services at South Lanarkshire, said: “The council is looking forward to a successful relationship with Bull to deliver the server and storage supply and support services covered by this contract.”

In May, the firm agreed to a €620m (£492m) takeover by fellow French group Atos to create the largest cloud computing company in Europe.
