Soup giant serves up Chinese growth

Campbell Soup yesterday revealed it would form a joint venture with Hong Kong-based Swire Pacific to expand the reach of its business in China.

Campbell, the world's largest soup maker, started selling its wares in China in 2007 but has been looking for ways to expand the business in the world's most populous country, where most people still eat homemade soup. Swire and Campbell said about 355 billion servings of soup are consumed in China each year.
