Sir Tom Hunter shares Bhs windfall

SCOTTISH entrepreneur Sir Tom Hunter and famed businesswoman Robin Saunders are understood to have shared a £10.5 million special windfall when Bhs owner Philip Green paid himself £164.5 million.

Saunders and Hunter are non-executive directors and shareholders of the firm and were paid 1.75 million and 8.75 million respectively. Green was defiant after claims his payment was extravagant.

Green said he had earned the money after turning round the once ailing Bhs brand. Saunders’ team at German bank WestLB are bidding to finance the construction of a new national football stadium at Wembley.
