Sir Richard Branson's £25m rail dividend

Sir Richard Branson last year took more than £25 million in dividends from Virgin Rail, which runs trains between Glasgow and London, figures filed at Companies House show.

The joint venture between Virgin Group and Stagecoach, the Perth-based transport group led by Brian Souter, paid out 42.5m in dividends in the year to March, and a further 9m later in 2010. Virgin Rail made a profit of 67.2m.
