The Malin Sentinel, which sailed from China via Singapore and the Suez Canal, took seven weeks to arrive in her home port.

The vessel has completed sea trials and now takes up assignments in the North Sea where the emergency response and rescue vessel will support drilling projects for a range of charterers. Sentinel Marine’s next investment programme will see a further three new-build vessels join the fleet.

Rory Deans, chief executive of Aberdeen-based Sentinel Marine said taking delivery of The Malin Sentinel proved highly challenging. It had previously been expected to arrive in August.

He added: “We have built a first-in-class, multi-role fleet to support our clients operations, and the Malin Sentinel joins our fleet to provide far wider services than just response and rescue.”
