The Airdrie-based company, owned by potato supplier Albert Bartlett, said the three varieties of rolls – pork, pork and haggis and pork with black pudding – will be available in selected Asda stores north of the Border.

The range has been produced for the firm in Cumbernauld by the Sword family, which has been baking pastry and pies for four generations.

Scotty Brand head of marketing Michael Jarvis said: “We are very excited to introduce sausage rolls to our range of products. The three varieties bring a new dimension to this traditional pastry.”
