Scottish Mortgage stresses long game

Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust has stressed its solid long-term performance after revealing lower interim figures.

The trust, which is managed by Baillie Gifford, said that over the half-year to 30 September its net asset value per share fell by 20.5 per cent. The share price fell by 16 per cent, roughly in line with its benchmark index. Over the five years to the end of September, both measures were well ahead of the benchmark.
