The achievements come as a huge boost at a time when the hospitality industry has been ravaged by the coronavirus pandemic.

Owners, Nicholas and Gaynor Russell, said they were humbled by the latest awards.

They dedicated the 2020 successes “to the boys, girls, men and women who have made up our hotel brigade over the three decades.”

Earlier this year, at the Scottish Hotel Awards Balbirnie House became Scotland’s wedding hotel of the year, for the 14th time in 16 years.

Now, as an organisation, Haute Grandeur said it was unable to find any hotel in any other country in the world, which has received anything comparable to the consistency of recognition that Balbirnie House has received in Scotland.

Added the directors: “It is that context which has helped to pave the way for the four combined global awards.”

The success follows two previous best-in-world awards in 2018 and 2019.

The hotel has hosted many a legendary and incredibly romantic occasion, extending into truly rock’n’roll partying as day to day routine. The most weddings ever catered for in a single year thus far is 165, although this is now expected to significantly increase when social distancing ends.
