Scottish drink brands offer 'fresh perspective on the way we drink' during Sober October

Two Scottish brands have teamed up to challenge people to address their alcohol intake during October, while raising funds for MacMillan Cancer Support.

Launching a series of alcohol free serves from Friday 2 October, the collaboration focuses on Scottish provenance and sustainability.

Specialist soft drinks maker Rapscallion Soda is collaborating with Scotland’s first alcohol-free spirit – Feragaia – to give a “fresh perspective on the way we drink”. The tie-up will also emphasise the brands’ Scottish provenance and sustainability.

The move ties in with the Sober October initiative, and from Monday the brands will be donating £1 per online sale towards MacMillan Cancer Support during October.

Gregor Leckie, founder of Rapscallion Soda, said: “It’s always been our mission to get people across the UK drinking better-tasting drinks and ones that are good for you too. I hope that our collaboration with Feragaia encourages the public to try something exciting this October.”

Jamie Wild, co-founder of Feragaia, added: “Rapscallion Soda is an industry trailblazer and we’ve forged a friendship through provenance and a shared vision of how things should be made.

“We’re excited to collaborate to encourage people to try something new and also help support such a fantastic charity initiative by MacMillan Cancer Support.”

Among the collaborative products is Dreich and Stormy, which teams Feragaia, sweet honey, a splash of lime juice and Rapscallion Ginga Ninja, finished with a vibrant red chilli. Another concoction features Feragaia over ice, topped off with Rapscallion Dry Lime Soda and a lime twist.

Sober October is a campaign that encourages people to go sober for the month of October to help raise funds for cancer charity, MacMillan Cancer Support.
