Scottish comedian joins forces with businesses for charity

TWO young entrepreneurs have teamed up with comedian Karen Dunbar for a charity event that will offer a Scottish take on a popular TV show.

Dunbar will host “Strictly Come Scottish” in support of Clic Sargent, the Ayr-based children’s cancer charity.

The event kicks off a huge fundraising effort by 30 Scottish business owners who have pledged to raise £300,000 for Clic, culminating in a trek to Machu Picchu in April.

The show will take place at Oran Mor in Glasgow next Saturday as a celebration of the life of Gary Turner, who was nursed by Clic throughout his life. It has been organised Louise Graham of Th!nkFrog Marketing and Stephen Pringle of Sherwood Phoenix Pianos, alongside Turner’s friends.

Ayr-born Dunbar said: “I am sending a heartfelt plea to all business owners to consider supporting a charity that helps children and young people with cancer fulfil their dreams.

“For businesses, it’s a great way to give staff a treat and to give something back to the community.”
