Scots most likely to stick with their bank

JUST two-thirds of Scots would consider changing their current account if they experienced bad service from their bank.

Only consumers in Wales are more likely to stick with their bank than Scots, according to new research by consumer group Which?

It revealed that 63 per cent of Scots would switch their current account if they got bad service, compared with a high of 85 per cent in Northern Ireland. Overall, 68 per cent of UK consumers said they were likely to switch accounts because of bad service, with just 58 per cent of Welsh account holders prepared to take their business elsewhere.

The research also found that 87 per cent of Scots – against 83 per cent of people in the UK overall – believe the government should listen to consumers as well as banks on banking reform.
