Scots least likely to will cash to charity

New research by Standard Life shows Scots are among the least likely in Britain to leave money to charity when they die.

Publication of the research follows a move in the Budget to encourage people to leave a proportion of their estate to good causes.

Questioned before the change, 73 per cent of people in Scotland said they wouldn't leave money to charities, the joint highest figure along with people in Wales and the South West of England. The national average was 71 per cent. From next year, those leaving money to charity will get a tax break.
