Scotgold Resources losses narrow

SCOTGOLD Resources, which is prospecting for gold in Argyll, has posted slightly narrower losses of £345,000 for the first half of the year. The Aim-listed company said it would continue to focus on bringing its Cononish gold and silver mine near Tyndrum to production.

Production of gold and silver was expected to begin within 15 months of planning approval, but has been held up after Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park Authority rejected a bid to reopen the underground mine. Scotgold has appealed the decision and intends to submit a second, revised planning application.
