Savills appoints new boss for Aberdeen office

Property consultant Savills has appointed industry veteran Simpson Buglass to head up its office in Aberdeen.

Buglass, who has more than 30 years’ experience in the Scottish property market, takes up the role in January. He joins from Graham & Sibbald, where he was a partner within its commercial property team.

A registered valuer, he also sits on the council of Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce, where he chairs the property network.

The former head of Savills’ Aberdeen office, Ewan Berkeley, is returning to his role as head of office in Brechin, where he lives with his family.

• Elsewhere in the property sector, investor and asset manager Cording Real Estate Group, unveiled Mainpoint as the new brand for the Westport 102 office building in Edinburgh city centre. Cording bought the office for £32.2 million in September for Britannia Invest, an investment company for Danish pension funds.
