Samsung taps Carphone Warehouse for concept stores

Mobile phone retailer Carphone Warehouse has signed a deal with Samsung to operate more than 60 standalone stores across Europe for the Korean technology giant.

The deal follows last year’s opening of three Carphone-operated Samsung stores in Spain, and the new outlets will be rolled out across Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and the UK over the next three months.

Carphone chief executive Andrew Harrison said there was the potential for the partnership to be expanded, with the retailer acting as Samsung’s “preferred partner” in Europe and running the majority of its dedicated stores.
