Saltire students prepare for global internships

Entrepreneurial Scotland's Saltire Scholar programme has begun, with its largest cohort to date at 142 students, up from 137 in 2015, and for the first time with students from all 17 Scottish universities.

The initiative aims to provide undergraduate students in their penultimate year with “world-class summer internships”.

This year 59 host firms are taking part and Sandy Kennedy, chief executive of Entrepreneurial Scotland and the Saltire Foundation, said the initiative “continues to keep growing and keeps breaking records year on year”.

He added: “From entrepreneurial start-ups based in Silicon Valley to global corporates in Singapore, there is no other internship programme that identifies, connects and invests in Scotland’s potential.”
