Catering firm Saltire Hospitality has expanded its retail business after winning a contract to operate the café at the National Library of Scotland (NLS).

John McNiven, area retail manager for Saltire Hospitality, and John Coll, head of access at NLS, celebrate the deal

The Edinburgh-based company, which also handles corporate functions, weddings and other events, took control of catering for the NLS café this month.

Saltire would not reveal the value of the deal for reasons of commercial confidentiality, but claims its retail business is now worth more than £1 million.
