Ryanair soars past eight million mark

LOW-FARE airline Ryanair broke through the eight million passenger mark last month for the first time, it was announced yesterday.

The Irish no-frills airline carried a record 8.1 million passengers in July 2011. This was 6 per cent up on the July 2010 total of 7.6 million and beat Ryanair's previous monthly record of 7.8 million, set in August 2010. The airline carried 75.9 million passengers in the 12 months ending July 2011.
