Royal Highland organisers unveil winter fair judges

JUDGES from all parts of the agriculture industry will be officiating at this year's Royal Highland Winter Fair at the Royal Highland Centre on 24 November and at the Premier Meat Exhibition on 17 and 20 November.

Judging the sheep classes and overall sheep championships is Robert Lawson of East Mains, Carnwath, who, along with George Purvis, runs Scotch Lamb Marketing. In charge of the cross cattle classes and overall cattle championships will be a well-known face around the fatstock shows - Alistair Cormack, is manager for Rae Grieve's 70 strong Carlhurlie Aberdeen Angus herd at Annfield Farm, Lundin Links.

Following on from its successful move to Caledonian Marts, Stirling, last year, the Marks and Spencer Premier Meat Exhibition live judging will take place there again on 17 November. Auctioneer Scott Donaldson, who now works with Harrison and Hetherington at Carlisle, will be in charge of the sheep and Raymond Smith of Aberdeen will judge the cattle.
