Ross Harper sale complete

The remaining parts of the failed Ross Harper law firm have been sold as the Court of Session confirmed the appointment of Ian Mitchell of accountancy firm Henderson Loggie as judicial factor.

The appointment was formalised after leave to appeal the company’s suspension by the firm’s former partners lapsed. Four Ross Harper partners had their practising certificates suspended and had until last week to lodge answers to the Law Society’s original court petition. The civil law, reparation and personal injury business of Ross Harper, which folded after 50 years last month, were transferred to Glasgow-based Thompson & Brown.
