Revenues soar at owner of Perth ‘biogas’ facility

Green technology group TEG, which jointly owns an anaerobic digestion facility in Glenfarg, has trimmed its annual losses following a 25 per cent jump in revenues.

The firm said its Biogas Perth joint venture, which generates power from organic waste, is operating “very successfully”, with output running ahead of its design capacity.

Group revenues for 2012 jumped to £22.4 million, from £17.9m the previous year, helping underlying pre-tax losses fall by 35 per cent to £1.1m.

TEG is also working on an anaerobic digestion project in Dagenham, which is scheduled for completion early next year.

Chairman Rory Maw said: “The excellent performance of the group’s own plant operations and the continued growth in this segment demonstrate that, if TEG can secure the appropriate level of capital funding, it will develop a secure and successful operating platform.”
