Recruitment: Renewables, recruitment and communications in spotlight

Rob Forrest, GreenPower's owner and chief executive, has been elected to the Scottish Renewables board of directors. Forrest was one of the founders of Scottish Renewables back in the late 1990s and was its first chief executive, continuing to serve as a director for 11 years.

Nick Bolton joins Edgar Stewart

When he stood down in 2010 he always threatened “I’ll be back”.

• Recruitment firm Edgar Stewart has extended its Scottish team with the appointment of two new resourcing consultants following a number of business wins. The Edinburgh-based consultancy, which specialises in professional services recruitment, has recruited Nick Bolton and Alastair Edwards to join the team at its business incubator and start-up hub in Stockbridge.

Beattie, the communications group, has appointed Dada’s former head of PR Laura McIlquham to a senior account director role in Scotland. The news comes hot on the heels of the recruitment of Jessica McAndrew from Big Partnership as digital communications director. McIlquham brings more than 15 years of PR experience to the firm.

Rob Forrest rejoins the board at Scottish Renewables

• Challenger telecoms company TenTel has announced two senior appointments as the business gears up for rapid expansion in 2016. Daniel Halliday, who has been with TenTel since 2014, has been promoted to finance director and Scott Mackay has joined as customer director. The appointments complete the firm’s senior management team.

• The international sales team at Scottish Sea Farms has been boosted by two key appointments. Victoria McDowell has been appointed as commercial manager, joining from Glasgow Airport where she was commercial manager for eight years. Meanwhile, Cheryl Scott joins the team as export and UK sales manager, bringing a wealth of experience from the food and drink industry.

• Property adviser Cushman & Wakefield has announced the appointment of Louise Walls, the first new recruit to the 120-strong Scottish team since the completion of its global merger with DTZ at the end of last year. She has joined the lease advisory team in Glasgow, headed up by Peter Balnave. The key clients for whom Walls – formerly with Gerald Eve – will be responsible include Vodafone, the Home Office, Jones the Bootmaker, Brantano, Royal Mail Group and the Clydesdale Bank.
