Search Consultancy Group, the recruitment specialist founded in Glasgow, today delivered the strongest financial results in its near-30 year history.

The firm, which was founded in 1987 and these days employs some 700 staff in 13 offices across the UK, reported its highest ever turnover, strongest net fee income and best ever underlying earnings result for the 52 weeks to 3 January.

Search’s contractor base, meanwhile, peaked at 7,400 workers – a rise of 9.6 per cent – and it made a net total of 8,520 permanent placements, up 3.7 per cent, year-on-year. Net fee income grew by 8.6 per cent to £41.8 million.

Chief executive Grahame Caswell said: “Search has continued to build on its strong track record of growth and I am delighted to report that the results are the best in the group’s history.”
