Real beauty is the key to advertising

NEARLY 80 per cent of women would like to see more “real women” in beauty advertising, according to a survey.

The recent Dove Body Confidence Census 2012 found that women consider Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton to be the most “inspirational beauty” in the UK, with TV star Holly Willoughby second, and Hollywood star Kate Winslet placed third.

The study also found that 13 per cent of women said the biggest beauty pressure came from the media, just behind 19 per cent who blamed pressure on society, and one in four women who said the biggest pressure actually came from themselves. The survey also found that as women grow older, the number of compliments they give to others decreases dramatically.
