Rank to recruit 1,400 new staff

GAMING group Rank yesterday said it would take on 1,400 staff over the next three years as part of an expansion of its casino division.

The Mecca bingo and Grosvenor casino group wants to develop an extra 45 casinos by 2015 including 30 of a new format aimed at younger customers. Rank added that trading has continued to be buoyant in the four weeks since the end of June.
