QueryClick web agency plans office in New York

A SCOTTISH digital marketing agency that specialises in making websites more visible to search engines is opening an office in New York after tripling its sales last year.

Edinburgh-based QueryClick, which launched five years ago, says the new base will allow it to service accounts with United States-focused clients such as Hunter Boots and Lochcarron more conveniently.

The firm added American cosmetics retailer Sally Beauty to its books last year and will be looking to win more US-based customers after its expansion.

Founder Chris Liversidge said: “A New York office has been on our wish list for some time and we are beyond delighted that this has become a reality for us.

“We are in a strong position to have built a name as one of a handful of companies that can handle truly international campaigns and, as we have a client base in 28 countries worldwide, the move was a natural evolution for us.”

Lead designer and web developer Alex Cowles will cross the pond to open the Manhattan office next month. He
will then recruit a small team of “local talent”, adding to QueryClick’s 18-strong international team.

The agency’s revenues tripled in its past financial year to almost £1 million and Liversidge says sales this year are already ahead of that figure.

He expects a further boost as QueryClick rolls out a software system it has designed in-house, with support from Scottish Enterprise, which will allow clients to see what search-engine results for their brand name will look like in different countries.

Liversidge already has plans for a Singapore office within two years to help his western customers target Asian consumers.
