Absoft, which was established in 1991 and is the only SAP partner to specialise in upstream oil and gas, said it had secured “significant growth” in new industries, having won a series of projects and support deals in the public sector, pharmaceuticals, hospitality and transport.

Keith Davidson, director of Absoft’s Integrated SAP Support unit, said more than £2.5m of the work was awarded by non-oil and gas businesses including a global pharmaceuticals company, hotel management chain, major public transport provider and a local authority.

In several cases, those deals involved the company securing a wider remit on the completion of an initial project by its specialist consultants.

Davidson said: “Since establishing Integrated SAP Support, we have seen an increase in the number of customers looking to invest in our remote support and managed service offerings, which involve Absoft essentially acting as an extension of the customer’s in-house team, as well as being able to offer consulting expertise based on SAP best practice.”

Ian Mechie, managing director of Absoft, added: “Our recent contract wins highlight the growing reputation of our Integrated SAP Support team, who thrive on providing innovative solutions for customers looking to address a whole host of common business challenges.”
