£32m Aggreko boost

TEMPORARY power provider Aggreko has signed its largest-ever gas-fuelled contract, securing a 35 million (£32m) deal with Ivory Coast.

Glasgow-based Aggreko said the contract would involve it providing 70 megawatts of temporary power fuelled by natural gas to support the national grid for the next two years. Chief executive Rupert Soames said: "Four years ago we started investing in gas-fuelled power generation and we now have a fleet of over 250MW."
