£21m in creditor cash unclaimed

Almost £21 million of creditor cash is lying unclaimed by Scottish businesses, a rise of 20 per cent on a year ago.

According to the latest annual report from the Accountant in Bankruptcy, 20.8m is now held in funds by the Scottish Government agency.

Matt Henderson, a partner at Johnston Carmichael, said: "Some companies seem to give up being paid if a customer goes bust. If you engage in the insolvency process there is often money available."
