£1m cash boost for Web Rigging

Web Rigging Services, an Edinburgh-based industrial equipment maker, is set to boost staff numbers after securing £1 million in funding for expansion.

The company, which supplies access and maintenance products for clients including oil and gas conglomerates, said the cash injection would allow it to further develop its services and add to the eight staff that it currently employs.

The 1m includes 900,000 from Clydesdale Bank, plus private equity investment and Scottish Enterprise seed funding. The firm provides an alternative to scaffolding for the maintenance of oil rigs, jetties and power stations.

Jo Bisset, managing director of Web Rigging, said "The under-deck of oil rigs or roofs or bridges are notoriously difficult areas to access with scaffolding.

"Our Web Deck, Web Net and Web Map products are four times faster to install in these circumstances because they are suspended from steel wires rather than built up from the ground or laboriously built out piece by piece."
