£1,500 - the annual fraud bill cost

Fraud costs every adult in the UK almost £1,500 a year, a watchdog claimed.

The National Fraud Authority admitted its figure – almost twice the amount shown in last year’s report – was only a “best estimate”.

The NFA claimed the private sector suffered losses of £45.5 billion.
