ProStrakan’s pain patch go–ahead

DRUGS developer ProStrakan, which was bought last year by Japanese peer Kyowa Hakko Kirin, has been given permission by the European Commission to sell an anti-sickness patch on the continent.

The Sancuso patch, which is already on sale in Asia and the United States, treats the nausea and vomiting that comes from chemotherapy, one of the methods for tackling cancer.

Borders-based ProStrakan, which was listed in London before being taken private by KHK, can now sell the patch in the 27 European Union member states along with Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
