Proserv snaps up US peer Tic

SCOTTISH oil and gas technology firm Proserv has swallowed a US rival in a move that will add 300 American workers to its growing payroll.

The Aberdeenshire-based company said yesterday it had acquired Total Instrumentation & Controls (Tic), which specialises in advanced process and control systems equipment including blow-out prevention. Tic has headquarters in Houston and a second manufacturing facility in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Proserv chief executive David Lamont said: “This is a significant development for Proserv as Tic is a leading independent contractor to subsea blow-out preventer manufacturers, meaning the deal will create a greater strong-hold for Proserv in the Gulf of Mexico market.”
