Proserv lands deal with Hess in Gulf of Mexico

SCOTTISH energy services company Proserv, bought by a US investor in a $750 million (£470m) deal in October, has won a major contract in the Gulf of Mexico.

David Lamont: Firms business is now increasingly global

The Aberdeenshire-based firm, headed by chief executive David Lamont, said the deal with Hess Corporation for a subsea control system for the deepwater Stampede development was worth over $20m and highlighted the increasingly global nature of its business.

Proserv, now owned by private equity investor Riverstone Holdings, has worked with Hess for the past three years and the latest contract takes the total contracts won to around $35m.

• Ennsub, the Aberdeen-based subsea design, engineering and technology company, has won a £2m contract from Houston-based oil and gas firm Benthic to build a system to launch drills in very harsh environments.
