The firm said it has pursued the establishment of the new Service Centres of Excellence in recent months as it continued to win significant orders despite the ongoing global challenge of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Its facility in Cumbernauld represents the firm’s Service Centre of Excellence for Measurement and replaces its location in Coatbridge. The facility spans almost 800 square metres, including a testing laboratory, workshop and office provision, and will serve as the team’s global headquarters for its growing measurement and metering activities, with a capability to supply independent system design, build and installation.

Proserv’s Cumbernauld general manager James Holt said: “Our newly opened space gives us the extra capacity to improve our workflows and deliver the high-quality products we are known for. Our facility is also currently set up to deal effectively with the present health situation, and we have allocated dedicated offices for any visiting customers to reduce physical contact and retain social distancing.”

Although Proserv’s measurement and metering offering will retain its HQ at Cumbernauld, it will also consolidate its presence further at the firm’s Abu Dhabi facility, with the new space enabling it to support its increasing Middle East and North Africa activities from the regional hub. The team is delivering contracts in Libya and carries out work on the Arabian Peninsula.

Proserv Controls’ new facility in Abu Dhabi is an upgrade on its previous base in the city, with a total footprint of almost 3,000 sq m. The Mussafah site delivers a wide range of Proserv’s service and production capabilities including the build, repair and upgrade of all brands of hydraulic control systems, pressure testing facilities, as well as the provision of the firm’s bespoke Aegis maintenance optimisation offering and remote asset monitoring.

The firm’s Abu Dhabi general manager Angus Rodger said the new site “strengthens our ability to support the operation and maintenance of a broad spectrum of Proserv legacy brand equipment that is located in the Middle East, as well as supply newly designed hydraulic and electrical control systems”. He added that it will allow the firm to continue to deliver rapid, locally based expertise to its customers, “who include some of the region’s biggest operators”.

Michael Purkiss, Proserv’s vice president, services, said the two facilities “give us the necessary scale and size to ramp up our expanding activities and enhance our efficiencies”.
