Spreng & Co, founded in 2008 by former journalist and corporate communications specialist Callum Spreng, has teamed up with fellow Glasgow firm Liddell Thomson to form Spreng Thomson.

The new agency is co-owned by Spreng and Lesley Thomson, who set up Liddell Thomson in 1996 with Colin Liddell. He will remain involved with the business as its strategic adviser.

Thomson said: “This move, in what is our 20th year of operations, creates a truly unified team with a shared goal.

“More than that, it means we can offer clients a fully integrated range of communications services across multiple platforms from a single source. We’re all really positive about the enhanced opportunities this will create and are looking forward to an exciting year ahead.”

Spreng added: “Between Liddell Thomson and Spreng & Co we’ve built up a portfolio of clients that we’re very proud of and a reputation for using communications as a discipline that can help them achieve their organisations’ goals.

“We plan to harness this track record to grow Spreng Thomson in Scotland and across the UK. Lesley and I are really excited about this opportunity and the team are raring to go.”

Spreng & Co and Liddell Thomson were originally located in Glasgow’s West George Street before moving to Albion Street in the Merchant City in 2012. Debbie Johnston, previously a director of Spreng & Co, has joined the board of the new company, which drafted in design studio Graven to work on its branding.
