Pirc ‘warned of Deloitte links’

Shareholder group Pirc yesterday said it had warned that auditors Deloitte did too much other work for Autonomy to be sufficiently independent from the software firm.

Its comments came in the wake of accusations by Hewlett Packard that Automony inflated its accounts ahead of its $11.1 billion (£7bn) purchase of the company last year.

Deloitte said it had conducted audit work in “full compliance with regulation and professional standards”.
