Pinnacle snaps up IT security firm RMS

PINNACLE Telecom continued its acquisitions spree yesterday, buying an English IT security firm for £468,000.

Pinnacle said buying RMS Managed ICT Security would bring it security expertise, a base in Staffordshire and 1,700 additional customers.

It added that cross-selling opportunities existed across the combined businesses. RMS, formerly a division of Redstone, is the fourth business swallowed by Stirlingshire-based Pinnacle since July.

This year Pinnacle won contracts to provide public wireless internet access for the Edinburgh International Festival and Fringe, and built a network for the BBC to use for its festival broadcasts.

It also set up networks for broadcasters at the Johnnie Walker golf tournament at Gleneagles and the Alfred Dunhill links championship at Carnoustie.
