Food firm McIntosh of Strathmore has secured a deal with Asda to stock its new range of macaroni pies across 54 Scottish stores, with an annual contract value of more than £60,000.

The “Mexicana” cheese macaroni pies have officially launched and are stocked exclusively with the supermarket giant for a limited period of time.

McIntosh is part of Strathmore Foods, established in 1973. Based in Forfar, the company currently employs 120 staff, producing a range of traditional Scottish meals and pies, and sells more than 30,000 macaroni pies a week.

Neil MacRae, sales manager, said: “This is a very exciting opportunity to launch a new addition to our pie range in Asda stores across the country.”

Heather Turnbull, Asda’s regional buying manager for Scotland, said: “The McIntosh macaroni ranges are premium quality products which are popular with our customers so it’s great to be the first to offer the new Mexicana pies. Feedback has been incredibly positive.”
