PhotoBox contract will create 110 Glasgow jobs

More than 100 multi-lingual jobs are to be created with the expansion of a Glasgow call centre operation.

The move follows the signing of a contract between French group Webhelp TSC and PhotoBox, an online company that creates personalised albums, gifts and wallpaper from digital photos.

Webhelp, which already has some 3,000 staff in Scotland, said it was looking to take on 110 people who can speak languages including French, German, Italian and Spanish to work on the latest contract.

The recruitment process is expected to be completed by August, with 18 current PhotoBox employees in the UK moving across to Webhelp. The new customer services staff will handle inbound calls as well as e-mail and “webchat” inquiries.

Mike Purvis, sales and marketing director at Webhelp, said: “This is a great win for Webhelp TSC as our strategy for growth gathers pace. This is a truly multi-channel, multi-lingual brief that will be a big boost to our UK operation.

Glasgow is an international city, with a talented workforce, which will ensure we’re able to recruit the right people with the right skills for PhotoBox.”

The digital photo firm has been working with Webhelp’s parent group since 2006 and the UK contract win marks an extension of that relationship.
