Web design group’s new staff are not feeling alienated

Web design and marketing agency Alienation Digital has added five fresh faces to its staff line-up in an ongoing recruitment drive.

The Glasgow-based firm, which also has an office in London, has attracted employees from a number of agencies in the digital marketing sector, as well as running a successful internship scheme.

The appointments take its staff count in both offices from 20 to 25, and it still has two vacancies to fill.

University of Strathclyde graduate Cat Leaver was offered a permanent job after working on Alienation’s marketing internship, while PR professional Valerie Paton joins as new project manager.

Web developer Daniel Houriez made the move to Alienation after three years at design and e-commerce agency Become Interactive, and designer Dan Cowley joins after running his own web design business for the last three years. Former travel agent Stephen Elliott has been brought on board as a sales executive.

The Scots chief executive and chairman of regional airline Flybe saw a third wiped off the value of the company he runs this week on fears that the consumer slowdown has reached the UK air travel market. In a trading statement that noted a dip in sales during September, French said it was too early to say if the changes were short-term or are here to stay.
