Oxley wins key cereal role

The Home Grown Cereals Authority has announced the appointment of Dr Simon Oxley to head up their recommended lists and agronomy work

Well-known across the industry as a researcher and crop adviser through his work with Scottish Agricultural College in Edinburgh, he brings with him more than 25 years experience in plant pathology.

Over the years Oxley has worked closely with HGCA, leading several research projects including the Barley Fungicide Performance project, assessing and running recommended list trials and serving as a member of the wheat and barley variety selection committees.

Oxley said: "I am looking forward to working with my new team at HGCA and hope we can add value to the recommended lists through better integration with HGCA research activities, providing the industry with practical information based on good science."
