Optos sees out bonus vote

NEARLY one-fifth of investors yesterday voted against Optos' deferred bonus plan at the eye-scanning machine maker's AGM in Edinburgh.

More than 13 per cent also voted to reject the directors' renumeration report.

But the Dunfermline-based firm confirmed that its desk-top scanning machine - code named Project Daytona - was on schedule to be launched next year. The new device is understood to offer an improved profit-margin and will also appeal to different customers than those that buy its free-standing terminals.
