On The Move: LSH appoints two new planning directors

Commercial property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton has appointed two new directors in its planning team, as the firm continues its strategic growth plans in Scotland.

David Campbell and Graeme Laing join from GL Hearn, where both have worked for more than a decade. Together they have over 35 years’ experience working across both public and private sectors. The pair will join LSH’s established planning and development consultancy team in Glasgow.

Development director John Hill said: “David and Graeme have acted for housebuilders, retailers, developers and landowners across Scotland. They’ve got a track record of success from greenfield housing land releases, retail and commercial development, student housing, health and public sector work.”

Joining accountancy firm Saffery Champness this month as a partner, Kenny McDowell will bring with him wide experience in providing advice to clients in the “not-for-profit” and commercial sectors throughout Scotland. McDowell has more than 20 years’ experience, providing assurance and advisory services to charities in theatre and arts, education, and care sectors, as well as faith-based charities and grant-making organisations, companies and individuals with interests in property, manufacturing, technology and professional services industries.

Maggie’s Glasgow, the charity which provides free practical, emotional and social support for people with cancer and their family and friends, has welcomed Kerry Craig as its new centre head. In this role, Craig – who qualified as a nurse in 2000 and worked initially at the Victoria Infirmary – oversees everything that happens in the centre, including supporting visitors, managing the programme of support and mentoring staff.

Business Stream has appointed Dave Allin, formerly of Severn Trent Water Services, to further strengthen its senior team ahead of the opening of the English commercial water market in 2017. Allin – headhunted specifically for his “impressive track record” in the non-domestic market – will become Business Stream’s new head of solutions following his notable success at Severn Trent.

First Bus has announced the appointment of Tim Noble as the company’s new head of procurement. He joins the transport giant from SCC, a large IT infrastructure and services group, having previously enjoyed a five-year stint as head of procurement for Arriva. Noble said: “I’m delighted to be returning to the transport industry and joining First Bus. I’ve inherited an excellent team, with a great reputation and a really strong track record of achievement.”
