On the move: Latest appointments and promotions

Edinburgh-based architecture and design studio LBA has appointed senior architectural designer Gareth Jones to strengthen its team, with a focus on private clients and commercial residential projects.

With a BA Hons Interior Architecture from the University of Wales Cardiff and a career spanning over 15 years, Jones has held senior positions in architectural practices including Richard Murphy Architects. He has also directed many high-end domestic building projects and won national accolades for his work. The most notable project to date, Murphy House, was awarded the 2016 RIBA House of the Year category as well as the restoration and conversion of the historic Playfair’s Donaldson’s School building and Gate Lodges in Edinburgh into 112 luxury apartments.

Commercial property investment and development company, Chris Stewart Group (CSG), has expanded its senior management team with an eye to future acquisitions and investments. CSG says it sees increasing opportunity for urban regeneration and has appointed an experienced project director and a new member to its deal origination team.

Tim Currie is a Rics qualified chartered quantity surveyor and project director, and brings 25 years’ experience in projects across multiple industry sectors in the UK and Europe. He was previously within the capital projects team at CSRE, Goldman Sachs International.

With more than ten years’ experience in the commercial property market, Rory Stephens joins CSG to help identify new acquisition and development opportunities in key UK cities. Following six years working with DTZ’s Scottish capital markets team, he joined Lloyds Banking Group where he advised on the asset management and disposal of the bank’s non-core loan book in the UK and Ireland.

Hutcheon Mearns has announced the appointment of Piotr Wisthal to its consulting team of accounting professionals. A qualified chartered accountant, Piotr completed his training with PwC and has held several senior finance positions within listed and private equity backed oil and gas service companies in Aberdeen. Hutcheon Mearns’ partner Andrew Ferguson said: “Piotr is a dynamic accountant and a great addition to our already highly experienced team.”
